Pentland Medical COVID-19 Update

We wanted to provide a brief update on how the Pentland Medical team are operating and continuing to support the NHS and private groups to the very best of our ability. We are in the fortunate position of being able to work remotely with our distribution centres being largely unaffected.

Hospital visits and meetings are still viable, if consent is provided by the specific Trust and department, and will endeavour to complete the necessary training or discussions, in-person, if reasonable precautions are taken. However, we can also support departments and staff remotely using webinar functionality and will steadily increase this in the coming weeks.

In light of Covid-19, we have discontinued work on our full portfolio of devices to concentrate on the essential products only, with the aim of helping to improve patient and staff safety. Furthermore, it is evident that a shortfall of some vital equipment persists and would like to assist where possible.

The two key areas we are working on currently:

1. Non-invasive Core Temperature Trend Indicator Strips for Patients/Staff

2. Remote IV Therapy Drip Counters for Infusions amidst Pump Shortages

Temp Alert Indicator Strips work by taking the temperature of the skin, however the reading is adjusted to show a trend indication of oesophageal core temperature; highly suitable for temperature screening within wards, ICU and other relevant patient-focused areas.

The Monidrop IV Drip Counter attaches to the vast majority of gravity IV sets and will accurately monitor the speed of infusion and total volume infused. In many cases, this is a suitable alternative to the use of an infusion pump with less consumable cost and maintenance.

The current Covid-19 situation highlights how the ability to reduce close patient contact time can be vital during these circumstances.

We would also like to hear your thoughts on the current situation, and if there is anything else that we can help with during this time, please let us know via the contact form link below, or contact us via email/phone on:
