Otiom is a revolutionary technology – the worlds first medical device using NB-Iot technology with the purpose of preventing people with dementia from becoming lost.
Many similar technologies using GPS technology will pitch their product lower to buy, but will charge a monthly subscription fee for continued use of their products. We don’t believe that this is a suitable pricing model for this type of product in this type of market and, therefore, if you purchase Otiom outright, there are no ongoing costs and you can have lifetime unlimited use of Otiom and can contact us for support free of charge whenever it may be needed.
In addition to the purchasing option, we are pleased to offer customers the option to rent Otiom with a monthly fee – an option that also includes a 1 month free trial period with no obligation to continue.
When you buy Otiom outright, all equipment is fully owned by you. There is no charge to use the Otiom app and you will therefore have unlimited use of the Otiom system as long as it is needed.

Otiom will remain as the property of Pentland Medical Ltd.
If you opt to purchase the system outright, you may request to return the product to us for a full refund within 30 days of purchasing Otiom. We ask that you pay to return the equipment via courier or other insured service such as Royal Mail Special Delivery. On the receipt of the goods in satisfactory condition, we will process a refund for the amount of the goods minus any shipping fees that were charged when the initial purchase was made. After one month, we will not accept returns.
When you select the option to rent, we will take your details including delivery information and your payment details. The only fee you will be charged upfront is our flat-rate delivery fee of £7 (for mainland UK deliveries).
Once processed, we will aim to deliver your selected goods within 2-3 working days.
We will not charge the first rental fee until 30 days after your order, so in essence, you will have 30 days to trial the device free of charge. If, during this initial period, you decide not to continue using Otiom for any reason then please contact Pentland Medical in writing and we will cancel the subscription and provide instructions for returning the goods. You should return the goods to us at your own expense within 14 days of your written cancellation. If we don’t receive the goods back within 14 days, we will charge you and will continue to do so on a monthly basis until we have received the goods back and are satisfied with their condition.
Assuming that you wish to continue using Otiom beyond the 30 day trial period, the first subscription payment will be taken 30 days after the order is first placed. After the first payment has been taken, you may contact us to change your preferred date of payment and we will take it monthly from thereon.
You can choose to purchase the Otiom device outright at any point during rental. Please note, no refunds will be issued for the period Otiom has been rented from Pentland Medical.
Should you wish to cancel from this point onwards, you can do so by contacting Pentland Medical in writing. We will respond to confirm your cancellation and provide delivery instructions to return the goods. You should not cancel your direct debit with the bank until the final month’s payment has been drawn. Your rental agreement cancellation will not be implemented until a written notice is provided via email. This will trigger the notice period of 30 days, meaning you can continue to use Otiom during this time and we will charge you the monthly subscription for the final time. Once this 30 days has passed, you will have 14 days to return the goods to us at your own expense. If the goods are not received back within these 14 days, we will continue to charge the monthly subscription fee until we have received them.
If the goods are lost or damaged at any point during the rental period, you should contact Pentland Medical in writing to explain the issue. We will provide replacement goods while you continue to pay the subscription fee. However, in the event of 3 separate incidents of damaged or lost goods, we will charge a penalty fee of 50% of the total cost of the damaged equipment.
The Otiom application and ongoing support from Pentland Medical will be included in the rental fee and there is no additional charge for support or use of the app throughout the rental period.
